Hey There

My photography journey started when I was little and my dad let me take his old Olympus 35mm camera from the 80s out for a spin! I have been hooked ever since.

While I always loved photography, it was just a hobby in my mind. Though I knew I needed to be an artist and express my creativity somehow in my career, it didn't occur to me that photography could be that path until I was accepted to Appalachian State University and discovered their Commercial Photography program. I graduated with a degree in Commercial Photography and a minor in Communications in 2020 and I haven't looked back.

Since college, I have worked full-time as a social media manager and commercial photographer for different companies, while creating for clients on the side. I have also worked as second shooter for weddings for many years. In 2023, I decided to invest all my energy into my own business and passions - and so Payton Miller Photography was born!

​

Outside of creating, some of my favorite things include my cat Tiger, anything music (concerts, festivals, collecting records, etc.), traveling, reading, trying new coffee shops and restaurants, and being at the mountains and/or beach!
